WHAT MEMBERS SAY ABOUT SINGLES WEEKENDS:

“I plan on telling every single Soldier in my unit that this training is a must!!!

"This event helped me think about what is going on in my life.  It gave me a new perspective."

Great course, well presented.  Great use of time.  One of the best courses of instruction I've attended in almost 30 years in uniform.  Definite tools I'll use in my own life."

"I loved the location and the format.  I like that the outline was less structured.  It felt more like a group interaction rather than a class."

"Very good weekend.  It was refreshing, informative, and renewing."

"This event helped me a lot by re-assuring me of things about myself and by helping me through my break-up by knowing I did the right thing.  Also, it helped me to understand why I have made some of the decisions that I have in my life."

Strong Bonds Marriage Enrichment Weekends offer military couples a fun and refreshing time to reconnect with the love of your life! These weekend retreats are conducted at some of the premier hotel and resort locations around the state. It’s our way of saying thank you for the sacrifices you and your Family make every day.  These events are not intended to be a substitute for marital counseling, nor are they group therapy. Instead, you’ll gain practical information based on world-class curriculums developed from years of research. As a couple, you’ll practice relationship building skills, as well as share intimate moments.  The retreats are designed to strengthen relationships, inspire hope and rekindle marriages. You and your spouse will gain skills that fortify your marriage as you enjoy a time of relaxation, recreation, fellowship, and fun.

Two curriculums are currently offered. They are LINKS and Fearless Marriage.

CURRICULUMS OFFERED:

LASTING INTIMACY THROUGH, KNOWLEDGE, & SKILLS
Falling in love is easy… staying in love is an art.  LINKS teaches couples the skills they need to nurture a lasting love.  LINKS Program shows couples how to regularly revitalize the dynamic links of their marriage with the Relationship Attachment Model (R.A.M.). This model illustrates how couples grow closer by meeting one another’s needs for an open, trusting, and fulfilling relationship.

The LINKS Program utilizes “Couples Huddles” throughout the weekend in order to provide couples the opportunity to put into practice what they learn.  These “Couples Huddles” provide a model for couples to continue after the event so that couples can proactively nurture a lasting love.

Fearless MarriageFEARLESS MARRAIGE is a new curriculum from PREP designed to help couples achieve their goals in relationships, family, and marriage. The curriculum is designed to build on each person’s existing strengths and add critical life and relationship skills.  By emphasizing each couple’s strengths, couples are empowered to take responsibility of addressing risks in the relationship and promoting a safer and more stable relationship.

Fearless Marriage also addresses how life stress can impact your relationship.  In particular, Fearless Marriage emphasizes how we think and react to life events.  Couples learn how to focus on what they can control and how to achieve a better balance between work and family commitments.  The ultimate goal is to provide couples with a clear picture of what a healthy relationship looks like in such a way that they feel empowered and fully capable of creating their own healthy romantic relationship.

FEARLESS MARRIAGE Part II reviews the topics covered in the original Fearless Marriage event and adds sessions on Fun, Building Connection, Forgiveness, and Commitment.
