Airmen from the 200th RED HORSE Squadron work on a drainage system for the reverse osmosis water purification unit at the University of the Virgin Islands Soccer Field, Oct. 10, 2017, in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. The RED HORSE (Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operational Repair Squadron Engineer) team of about 25 Ohio National Guard Airmen have been on the island since Sept. 13, following Hurricane Irma, and have constructed tents, latrines, showers, and a laundry area for Soldiers and Airmen who are supporting continuing relief efforts.

Members of the Ohio Air National Guard’s 200th RED HORSE Squadron work with the South Dakota Army National Guard’s 139th Brigade Support Battalion to provide potable water for residents of Comerío, Puerto Rico, Oct. 16, 2017, after Hurricane Maria disrupted all utilities, leaving the island with no water or electrical power. The job of the Airmen from the 200th RED HORSE (Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operational Repair Squadron Engineers) is to purify the much-needed water with a Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Unit (ROWPU) and then the team from the 139th BSB transports the water to established distribution points in the area
