8. Applicants are subject, but not required, to a personal interview, before a military board upon notification of time and place. Necessary travel will be at the expense of the individual. Inquiries concerning specific aspects of the duty position should be directed to the Selecting Official.
9. Selection will be made from those applicants determined best qualified in terms of experience, training and demonstrated performance ability. Concurrent announcements will be staffed against technician position description criteria. Ensure all prior experience with inclusive dates is annotated in detail when applying.
10. Pregnant females are eligible to apply for AGR tours. Individuals selected for AGR tours must meet all applicable medical and physical requirements in accordance with AFI 48-123 prior to entering or initiating the tour. If selected, they cannot be appointed and entered on active duty until the pregnancy period has expired.
Additional Duty Requirements: Position is located in the Flight Line Section. The purpose of this position is to provide planning, scheduling and control of aircraft maintenance through a variety of support maintenance shops. Implements preliminary (advance) maintenance plans for assigned weapon systems and schedules immediate maintenance for transient aircraft. Designates, maintains and monitors current maintenance repair priorities of aircraft to ensure actuality and compliance with flying schedules. Conducts the control and dispatch of shop assignments. Monitors progress of job completion by dispatched personnel. Controls maintenance on assigned aircraft and related support and training equipment. Takes prompt and decisive action to make on the spot adjustments to maintenance repair priorities necessitated by unscheduled maintenance requirements and incorporates all unscheduled maintenance into a daily plan. Preplans requirements to support operational launch schedules, emergency war orders (EWO) and contingency plans.
DUTIES: This position is located in the Job Control Section of the Maintenance Control Branch. The purpose of this position is to provide planning, scheduling and control of aircraft maintenance through a variety of support maintenance shops.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which indicates the candidate can reason in quantitative terms, can express himself orally and in writing, and understands the terminology and data pertaining to the repair operations and processes characteristic of the production activity.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: (GS-09) - 24 Months experience in which the applicant demonstrates the following:
1. Experience as a supervisor, or contacts that required an interchange of information resulting in a specific required action to be completed.
2. Experience where candidate scheduled workflow in more than one area and was responsible for coordinating products or materials from support activities.
3. Experience in performing or supervising journeyman level work in a shop located within the production facility.
4. Experience where applicant exercised immediate control tasks such as:
A. Preparing job or work orders.
B. Scheduling various phases of projects into the shops.
C. Following up to see if work is progressing as planned; and
D. Arranging for adjustments in materials, machine processes, and work sequencing to allow for unanticipated changes.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): (GS-09)
1. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
2. Ability to exercise initiative in taking timely action to schedule and obtain required materials.
3. Knowledge of the organization and work procedures of the production activity.
4. Ability to exercise considerable initiative in taking prompt and decisive action to prevent or alleviate delays due to conflicts in scheduling, lack of materials, or faulty work processes.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION: NOTE: College Transcripts are required if you wish to use Education as a substitution for experience or if a degree is a requirement for the position. An copy of the transcript must be submitted with the Job Application. Education must be directly related to the field of work. Study successfully completed in a college, university, technical or vocational school may be substituted for experience at the rate of one year of study (30 semester hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week for 6 months of experience). Maximum credit is 6 months of specialized experience
