8.  Applicants are subject, but not required, to a personal interview, before a military board upon notification of time and place.  Necessary travel will be at the expense of the individual.  Inquiries concerning specific aspects of the duty position should be directed to the Selecting Official.

 

 9.   Selection will be made from those applicants determined best qualified in terms of experience, training and demonstrated performance ability. Concurrent announcements will be staffed against technician position description criteria.  Ensure all prior experience with inclusive dates is annotated in detail when applying.

 

10.   Pregnant females are eligible to apply for AGR tours.  Individuals selected for AGR tours must meet all applicable medical and physical requirements in accordance with AFI 48-123 prior to entering or initiating the tour.  If selected, they cannot be appointed and entered on active duty until the pregnancy period has expired.                                       

DUTIES: This position is located in the Base Civil Engineering function on an Air National guard Base: the purpose of the position is to provide supervision/management of engineering and services for the ANG installation including tenant organizations. Supervises through subordinate supervisors a fairly sizable work force composed of at least 2 GS-11 professional engineers, and highly skilled supervisory and nonsupervisory personnel having divergent occupational specialties and representing a wide range of grades.

 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: (GS-13) - 36 months experience in which the applicant demonstrates the following:

1.       Experience in preparing technical and engineering drawings.

2.       Experience in coordinating and negotiating with contractors and other personnel regarding engineering and administrative matters.

3.       Experience searching out and developing new or greatly modified methods and approaches to accomplish the civil engineering function.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): (GS-13)

1.       Skill in preparation of technical and engineering drawings and specifications.

2.       Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner with technicians, engineers, public officials, user agency representatives, etc.

3.       Ability to apply experienced professional judgment in dealing frequently with specialized engineering requirements.

 

 

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION:  NOTE: College Transcripts are required if you wish to use Education as a substitution for experience or if a degree is a requirement for the position.  An copy of the transcript must be submitted with the Job Application. Education must be directly related to the field of work. Study successfully completed in a college, university, technical or vocational school may be substituted for experience at the rate of one year of study (30 semester hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week for 6 months of experience).   Maximum credit is 6 months of specialized experience
