8.  Applicants are subject, but not required, to a personal interview, before a military board upon notification of time and place.  Necessary travel will be at the expense of the individual.  Inquiries concerning specific aspects of the duty position should be directed to the Selecting Official.

                                

 

9.   Selection will be made from those applicants determined best qualified in terms of experience, training and demonstrated performance ability. Concurrent announcements will be staffed against technician position description criteria.  Ensure all prior experience with inclusive dates is annotated in detail when applying.

 

10.Pregnant females are eligible to apply for AGR tours.  Individuals selected for AGR tours must meet all applicable medical and physical requirements in accordance with AFI 48-123 prior to entering or initiating the tour.  If selected, they cannot be appointed and entered on active duty until the pregnancy period has expired.

 

ADDITIONAL DUTY RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary purpose of this position is to perform preliminary planning, long term scheduling and analysis for the utilization and maintenance of a variety of general and special purpose vehicles and equipment (i.e., special purpose vehicles include fire trucks, K loaders, de-icing trucks, large snow blowers.)  In addition serves as the Base Fleet Manager.  Develops, manages and implements daily, weekly and yearly operational and maintenance plans for assigned general and special purpose vehicles and a variety of equipment.  Projects parts, contract services, funds and personnel required.  Coordinates master maintenance schedules with base functions and management personnel.  Assigns work priories for all scheduled/unscheduled maintenance.

                              

DUTIES:  This position is located in the Air National Guard, Logistics Readiness Squadron, Vehicle Management Flight. The primary purpose of this position is to perform preliminary planning, long term scheduling, and analysis for the utilization and maintenance of a variety of general and special purpose vehicles and equipment (i.e., special purpose vehicles include fire trucks, K loaders, de-icing trucks, large snow blowers). In addition serves as the Base Fleet Manager.

 

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which indicates the candidate can reason in quantitative terms, can express himself orally and in writing, and understands the terminology and data pertaining to the repair operations and processes characteristic of the production activity.

 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: (GS-09) - 24 Months experience in which the applicant demonstrates the following:

1.  Experience as a supervisor, or contacts that required an interchange of information resulting in a specific required action to be completed.

2.  Experience where candidate scheduled workflow in more than one area and was responsible for coordinating products or materials from support activities.

3.  Experience in performing or supervising journeyman level work in a shop located within the production facility.

4.  Experience where applicant exercised immediate control tasks such as:

Preparing job or work orders.

Scheduling various phases of projects into the shops.

Following up to see if work is progressing as planned; and

Arranging for adjustments in materials, machine processes, and work sequencing to allow for unanticipated changes.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):  (GS-09)

1.  Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.

2.  Ability to exercise initiative in taking timely action to schedule and obtain required materials.

3.  Knowledge of the organization and work procedures of the production activity.

4.  Ability to exercise considerable initiative in taking prompt and decisive action to prevent or alleviate delays due to conflicts in scheduling, lack of materials, or faulty work processes.

 

 

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION:  NOTE: College Transcripts are required if you wish to use Education as a substitution for experience or if a degree is a requirement for the position.  An copy of the transcript must be submitted with the Job Application. Education must be directly related to the field of work. Study successfully completed in a college, university, technical or vocational school may be substituted for experience at the rate of one year of study (30 semester hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week for 6 months of experience).   Maximum credit is 6 months of specialized experience.
