8.  Applicants are subject, but not required, to a personal interview, before a military board upon notification of time and place.  Necessary travel will be at the expense of the individual.  Inquiries concerning specific aspects of the duty position should be directed to the Selecting Official. 

 

9.   Selection will be made from those applicants determined best qualified in terms of experience, training and demonstrated performance ability. Concurrent announcements will be staffed against technician position description criteria.  Ensure all prior experience with inclusive dates is annotated in detail when applying.

 

10.      Pregnant females are eligible to apply for AGR tours.  Individuals selected for AGR tours must meet all applicable medical and physical requirements in accordance with AFI 48-123 prior to entering or initiating the tour.  If selected, they cannot be appointed and entered on active duty until the pregnancy period has expired.

 

ADDITIONAL DUTY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Process AGR and Guard payroll into the pay system, ensure that all facets of the member’s pay are accurate and complete and audit payroll actions for accuracy and proper documentation.   Interpret and analyze pay inquires by phone and in person.  Process Civilian Payroll and run pay reports.  Interpret Pay Regulations.                                         

 

DUTIES: This position is located in the Air National Guard (ANG) Flying Wing, Financial Management. Its purpose is to perform the full range of responsibilities associated with recording commitments, obligations, reimbursements, refunds, and disbursements for commercial services, account control, and travel in various computerized accounting systems. The incumbent possesses a broad knowledge of accounting methods, procedures, and techniques to provide accounting service to the Financial Manager, Commanders, Resource Advisors, higher headquarters, the Defense Finance and Accounting Service, and local, state, and Federal agencies. The incumbent works as an expert on complex issues resolving conflicts with limited guidance from supervisor.  Accomplishes accounting functions in support of state and Federal Air National Guard operations, training, and readiness missions.

 

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:  Clerical experience which demonstrates arithmetic aptitude and ability, accuracy and attention to detail, and the ability to apply established procedures for recording and compiling data.

 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  (GS-07) - 12 months experience which the applicant demonstrates the following:

  1. Experience in analyzing, classifying, and obligating commitment and obligation documents; reviewing data for validity and expenditure limitation.
  2. Experience which required applicants to verify the accuracy of codes, amounts, or similar data in numeric form against related documents, e.g., balancing, reconciling and adjusting accounts.
  3. Any experience in receiving, analyzing, and classifying, documents; matching disbursing documents with obligation data.
  4. Experience which required the candidate to obligate documents containing extensive subdivision of allotments and a number of accounts which are interrelated.
  5. Any type experience which required the candidate to develop or verify data for reports, statements and schedules.
  6. Experience which required the candidate to enter, delete and retrieve data into computers, e.g., word processor, IBM, Burroughs, etc.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs):  (GS-07)

  1. Knowledge of accounting methods, forms and techniques.
  2. Knowledge of general ledger and subsidiary accounts.
  3. Ability to interpret and apply a variety of accounting regulations and guidelines.
  4. Ability to analyze the interrelationship of accounts affected by varied transactions.
  5. Knowledge of disbursements and fund accounting, methods, procedures and techniques used in balancing and closing accounts.

              

 

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION:  NOTE: College Transcripts are required if you wish to use Education as a substitution for experience or if a degree is a requirement for the position.  An copy of the transcript must be submitted with the Job Application. Education must be directly related to the field of work. Study successfully completed in a college, university, technical or vocational school may be substituted for experience at the rate of one year of study (30 semester hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week for 6 months of experience).   Maximum credit is 6 months of specialized experience.
