THIS POSITION IS BEING ANNOUNCED IN ACCORDANCE WITH STATE MERIT PROMOTION PROCEDURES AND COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT. WEARING OF THE APPROPRIATE ARMY/AIR UNIFORM IS REQUIRED WHILE EMPLOYED IN THIS POSITION. PERMANENT CHANGE OF DUTY STATION (PCS) FUNDS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. DUE TO MANNING RESTRICTIONS, THIS POSITION WILL BE FILLED WHEN MANNING AND FUNDING BECOME AVAILABLE.
DUTIES: This position is located at an Air National Guard aviation wing. Its purpose is to serve as the Aircraft Maintenance Group Commander, with responsibility for directing, and managing the Aircraft Maintenance Group. It partners with the Wing Commander, as well as the Mission Support Group, and the Operations Group Commanders in planning, scheduling, and implementing an Operationally Risk managed (ORM) flying program. The scope of work for with position is identified with an authorized work force of up to 324 Military Technicians, Traditional Guard members, Active Guard/Reserve (AGR), Non Dual Status Technicians, state employees and contract personnel.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with a knowledge of equipment maintenance work, or skill in reading engineering drawings and specifications, using test instruments, making computations, and keeping records.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: (GS-13) - 36 Months experience in which the applicant demonstrates:
1. Experience in planning and coordinating projects to bring many resources together.
2. Experience in an organization which required highly complex, extremely high standards, and inspections often requiring sophisticated testing methods and equipment.
3. Experience in meeting rigid requirements established by other sources as to when and how the work will be done.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): (GS-13)
1. Ability to develop plan and coordinate complex work assignments.
2. Knowledge of an organization that produces a number of services or end products.
3. Ability to follow rigid requirements established by another source.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION: NOTE: College Transcripts are required if you wish to use Education as a substitution for experience or if a degree is a requirement for the position. An copy of the transcript must be submitted with the Job Application. Education must be directly related to the field of work. Study successfully completed in a college, university, technical or vocational school may be substituted for experience at the rate of one year of study (30 semester hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week for 6 months of experience). Maximum credit is 6 months of specialized experience.
