SALARY RANGE: STEP 01  $39,041 -  STEP 10 $50,754

DUTIES:  This position description is for a National Guard non-dual status (NDS) technician only.  This position meets the criteria of the NDS Management Plan as follows:  The position resides within the infrastructure and support functions of the state National Guard, the incumbent is not subject to mobilization nor is the work described part of the military mission, and the incumbent does not perform a key advisory or essential administrative role that is inherently military.  In addition, the position must meet on the following:  It does not have a comparable military function; or the position is required in the full-time role when the organization or similar military position requires a skill or competency that necessitates technical expertise or professional qualification that cannot be readily found in the military force structure.

 

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Clerical, administrative, or technical experience which demonstrates applicants ability to interpret, explain, and/or apply basic rules, regulations, policies and procedures of a transportation program.

 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  (GS-07) - 12 months of experience in which the applicant has demonstrated the following:

1.    Experience in obtaining and interpreting information, organizing and developing clear and meaningful written communications.

2.        Technical experience in the same transportation field as the position being filled.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):  (GS-07)

1.        Ability to gather information, interpret rules, policies and regulations and communicate information in writing.

2.        Knowledge of technical support work in areas of transportation or traffic management.

 

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION:  NOTE: College Transcripts are required if you wish to use Education as a substitution for experience or if a degree is a requirement for the position.  An copy of the transcript must be submitted with the Job Application. Education must be directly related to the field of work. Study successfully completed in a college, university, technical or vocational school may be substituted for experience at the rate of one year of study (30 semester hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week for 6 months of experience).   Maximum credit is 6 months of specialized experience.
