THIS POSITION IS BEING ANNOUNCED IN ACCORDANCE WITH STATE MERIT PROMOTION PROCEDURES AND COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT. WEARING OF THE APPROPRIATE ARMY/AIR UNIFORM IS REQUIRED WHILE EMPLOYED IN THIS POSITION. PERMANENT CHANGE OF DUTY STATION (PCS) FUNDS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. DUE TO MANNING RESTRICTIONS, THIS POSITION WILL BE FILLED WHEN MANNING AND FUNDING BECOME AVAILABLE.
DUTIES: This position is located in the Joint Forces Headquarters – State, Logistics Directorate (J4), Surface Maintenance Facility. The primary purpose of this position is to inspect the repair of a variety of armament equipment to ensure that physical and operating characteristics are within acceptable standards and specifications.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which demonstrates the candidate’s knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems; the ability to recognize improper operation, locate the cause and determine best method of correcting defects; ability to use technical manuals, tools and measuring equipment in making repairs and adjustments.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: (WG-10) - 18 months experience which has provided the applicant with the following:
1. Experience in repairing, rebuilding, modifying and testing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems and major components of weapons equipment.
2. Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and determining needed repairs in major components consisting of numerous and complicated parts and assemblies requiring a knowledge of electricity, pneumatics and hydraulics.
3. Experience which required the use of hand tools and measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, butt, radius, thread, and depth gauges.
4. Experience which required use of a variety of complex testing equipment such as ohmmeters, voltmeters and multi-voltage test sets.
5. Experience which demonstrated ability to interpret and apply drawings, schematic, blueprints, diagrams and specification.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): WG-10
1. Knowledge of theory, principles, and operations of electronic systems, mechanic, pressures, hydraulic and instrumentation used on weapons systems.
2. Ability to troubleshoot malfunctions and determine causes of mechanical and electrical problems.
3. Ability to use hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
4. Skill in the use of diagnostic and testing equipment.
5. Ability to interpret technical manuals, diagrams, blueprints, schematics and specifications.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION: NOTE: College Transcripts are required if you wish to use Education as a substitution for experience or if a degree is a requirement for the position. An copy of the transcript must be submitted with the Job Application. Education must be directly related to the field of work. Study successfully completed in a college, university, technical or vocational school may be substituted for experience at the rate of one year of study (30 semester hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week for 6 months of experience). Maximum credit is 6 months of specialized experience.

Experience will be evaluated based on relevance to the position for which the application is made and whether it is full-time or part-time. Individuals not reflecting experience and/or educational requirements will be found disqualified and not eligible for interview.
