THIS POSITION IS BEING ANNOUNCED IN ACCORDANCE WITH STATE MERIT PROMOTION PROCEDURES AND COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT.  WEARING OF THE APPROPRIATE ARMY/AIR UNIFORM IS REQUIRED WHILE EMPLOYED IN THIS POSITION.  PERMANENT CHANGE OF DUTY STATION (PCS) FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE.  DUE TO MANNING RESTRICTIONS, THIS POSITION WILL BE FILLED WHEN MANNING AND FUNDING BECOME AVAILABLE.

 

DUTIES: This position is located in a Detachment of a Company/Battery/Troop size unit of the Army National Guard (ARNG) which is geographically separated from higher headquarters. The primary purpose of the position is to oversee the training program for the Detachment and works toward keeping the readiness posture at the prescribed level. Plans and provides assistance to ensure the required training, personnel, administration, logistics, strength and public relations objectives are achieved and requirements are accomplished. Anticipates and recommends solutions for the needs of the detachment in all aspects of mobilization readiness. Provides day-to-day supervision of all detachment full-time support employees.

 

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Administrative or clerical experience, education, or training which demonstrates the candidate’s ability to perform the duties of the position.

 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: (GS-07) - 12 Months experience in which the applicant demonstrates the following:

1.        Experience which gives evidence of the capabilities to perform administrative work.

2.        Experience gathering information, compiling data and preparing reports.

3.        Experience in the application and use of regulations and procedures.

4.        Experience which demonstrates the application of both oral and written communicative ability.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): (GS-07)

1.        Knowledge of specialized procedures and technical application of the administrative work.

2.        Skill in gathering information, compiling data and preparing reports.

3.        Specific knowledge of regulations and procedures to the type of work performed by the function.

4.        Skill in communicating both orally and in writing.

 

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION:  NOTE: College Transcripts are required if you wish to use Education as a substitution for experience or if a degree is a requirement for the position.  An copy of the transcript must be submitted with the Job Application. Education must be directly related to the field of work. Study successfully completed in a college, university, technical or vocational school may be substituted for experience at the rate of one year of study (30 semester hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week for 6 months of experience).   Maximum credit is 6 months of specialized experience.
