ONG Soldier earns Monroe Township
Firefighter of Year accolades

COLUMBUS — Staff Sgt. Sean T. Panza, a member of the Ohio National Guard's Joint Force Headquarters and a Johnstown, Ohio, native, received the Monroe Township Volunteer Fire Department Firefighter of the Year award July 9, 2011.

The award was presented by the Ohio Senate, Licking County Board of Commissioners, and Village of Johnstown mayor. Panza earned the honor for his outstanding work and dedicated service throughout the year as a volunteer firefighter.

In civilian life, Panza is employed by the Ohio National Guard technician program as a truck driver for the Combined Support Maintenance Shop. He has been a member of the Ohio Army National Guard for 12 years, with 23 years of service overall in the U.S. military. Panza currently is assigned to Joint Force Headquarters as a truck driver for the U.S. Property and Fiscal Office warehouse.
