This summer, Soldiers of the Headquarters, 37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team
conducted training at Camp Ravenna Joint Military Training Center, near Newton Falls, Ohio,
in preparation for their deployment to Kosovo in support of Operation Joint Guard-Kosovo Force (KFOR). Sgt. Andrew Kuhn reports.

Families and friends bid farewell to Soldiers with Headquarters, 37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, as they leave for deployment.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (09/06/16) — About 100 Soldiers from Headquarters, 37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, located in Columbus, are deploying in support of Operation Joint Guard-Kosovo Force (KFOR). A call to duty ceremony was held at the Columbus Christian Center.

While deployed, the 37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT) will provide command and supervisory oversight of Multinational Battle Group-East (MNBG-E), tasked with maintaining a safe and secure environment and ensuring freedom of movement for people living within the MNBG-E Area of Responsibility, the sector along Kosovo’s southeastern border, which it shares with Macedonia and Serbia.

The 37th IBCT draws its lineage from the Ohio National Guard’s famed 37th Division, which made significant contributions to the Allied effort in both World War I and World War II.
