Ohio Military Reserve
Established in 1949, the Ohio Military Reserve (OHMR) is a key part of the Adjutant General’s Department.
The OHMR is focused on providing capabilities related to Emergency Support Functions 6 (Mass Care) and 7 (Logistics and Resource Management) under the Federal Emergency Management (FEMA) Incident Command structure. The OHMR also recently gained drone/remotely piloted aircraft capabilities to support its assigned state missions. Organized similar to an Army brigade, the OHMR has the requisite training, administrative, operational, and sustainment capacity to respond to state-level emergencies.
The OHMR is not compensated for their training; they are compensated during state active duty missions and paid according to their military rank/pay grade.
