Provide Ready Soldiers When Called ~
Special Troops Command (Provisional) supports Ohio Army National Guard units through all phases of sustainment, restoration and modernization, so that units are ready to mobilize in support of contingency operations and in support of the National Military Strategy. STC provides support to all Ohio Army National Guard units when called by the governor of Ohio. The STC provides organized, trained and equipped units to protect life, property and to preserve peace. STC Soldiers will participate in national, state and local programs that support our communities.

GuardCare 2024 provides free medical care to citizens of Greene County, Ohio

The Ohio National Guard and other government civilian and military medical professionals partnered with local and state public health agencies to conduct "Greene County GuardCare 2024: Warriors for Health" at the Greene County Career Center in Xenia, Ohio, Aug. 10-11, 2024. During the weekend event, more than 1,000 Ohioans received free, comprehensive medical care including screenings, physicals, immunizations, optometry services, dental care, hearing tests, lab draws, nutrition counseling, mental and behavioral health services, women’s health services and physical therapy.

Not conducted since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Red, White & BOOM! typically attracts over 400,000 to the city’s downtown riverfront area and features a street festival, live music and fireworks to celebrate Independence Day.

Serbian Armed Forces chaplains visit Ohio

Vladimir Blagojevic, Serbian Air Force military chaplain, April 8, 2022, at the Maj. Gen. Robert S. Beightler Armory in Columbus, Ohio. This State Partnership Program exchange was a continuation of the Ohio National Guard’s chaplain corps working closely with the Serbian Armed Forces since 2013 to reestablish a chaplaincy program that had not existed for more than seven decades in Serbia. Today, there are chaplains at Serbia’s military bases throughout the country, and the Ohio and Serbia chaplaincy relationship continues to grow.

PaYS program partners with civilian employers to provide opportunities

Brick by Brick: Father, Soldier builds family and career

For Staff Sgt. George Davis, a public affairs noncommissioned officer currently deployed overseas with the 196th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment, the biggest obstacle he faces is balancing his military commitments with spending quality time with family — wife Stacy, a sixth-grade math teacher, and son Park. In the midst of all of life’s demands, Davis unintentionally learned that he and his son both have a passion for Legos, and have amassed more than 100,000 pieces over several projects and developed an even stronger father-son bond.

Guard members play role in conservation of Northeast Ohio training facility

The Ohio National Guard, Ohio Division of Wildlife and Camp James A. Garfield Joint Military Training Center environmental office work together to facilitate controlled deer hunts at Camp Garfield, located near Newton Falls, Ohio, as a conservation effort to preserve the training facility’s natural resources. The controlled hunts have been a yearly tradition at the Ohio National Guard facility in Portage County since 1955, helping to manage the deer population on the more than 22,000-acre facility. ~ Master Sgt. National Hispanic Heritage Month: Soldier’s path to service began in Argentina

Ohio Army National Guard Staff Sgt. Adriel Nemec joined the Guard in 2013 and currently serves as an Army Basic Leader Course instructor at the 147th Regiment (Regional Training Institute) in Columbus, Ohio. Nemec, a native of Argentina, was born to missionaries and lived in or visited more than a dozen Central and Southern American countries when he was growing up. A case study in motivation: Shedding pounds, unhealthy habits to become a Citizen-Soldier

In this before and after shot, Matt Logsdon shows the transformation he went through to be eligible to join the Ohio Army National Guard. By changing his diet and exercising two hours a day, six days a week for a year, Logsdon was able to lose 145 pounds and improve his body fat percentage from 52% to 20%.
