Operation: Military Kids Hero Camp

The Ohio State University hosted a day-long camp for Ohio's Military Families called the Ohio Operation: Military Kids Hero Camp Tuesday, July 31, 2012 sponsored by the OSU Department of Athletics, Ohio State University Extension, its Ohio 4-H program, Ohio National Guard Family Readiness & Warrior Support, and the Ohio National Guard. The camp is designed as a fun day for the children to learn about living a healthy, active lifestyle while the parents attend a STRONG Family Workshop.
The workshop covered family wellness (nutrition, emotional and physical health) among other topics. Maj. Gen. Deborah A. Ashenhurst, Ohio adjutant general, and Ohio State football coach, Urban Meyer spoke to the families in the afternoon and explained the importance of sustaining an overall healthy lifestyle. |
