The Ohio National Guard welcomed home about 160 Soldiers from the 1487th Transportation Company during an Oct. 4, 2013, ceremony at Piqua High School in Piqua, Ohio. The unit was responsible for planning, synchronizing and executing tactical supply, sustainment and transportation operations throughout Regional Command South in Afghanistan. The 1487th replaced the 1486th Transportation Company out of Mansfield, Ohio, which performed the same mission the previous year during that unit’s deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. |
