WBNS-10TV Columbus evening news anchor Kristyn Hartman was the featured speaker for the Ohio National Guard Women's History Month program on March 17, 2015, at the Maj. Gen. Robert S. Beightler Armory in Columbus, Ohio. Hartman talked about her successful career progression in broadcast journalism, which she directly attributed to a Midwestern upbringing by her parents, including a father who was a Marine Corps Vietnam veteran, who advocated that anything is possible within one's set of skills through hard work and determination. Hartman was presented with a commemorative print in appreciation of her appearance by Maj. Gen. John C. Harris Jr., Ohio assistant adjutant general for Army.
