Hetrick spent Aug. 1-4 at the Nigerian equivalent of a noncommissioned/warrant officer academy, briefing leaders and instructors there who are looking to model their professional schools off the U.S. military structure.

Brig. Gen. Mark E. Bartman, Ohio assistant adjutant general for Air, is welcomed by youth campers Aug. 10, 2011, to Operation: Military Kids Camp at Kelley's Island, on Lake Erie. Ohio National Guard leaders spent a day at the camp, a joint venture of the ONG Family Readiness and Warrior Support Program and 4-H, for children ages 9-15, who are from military Families.

Spc. Amy Gregory, a member of the Ohio Army National Guard's 196th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment and a Marshallville, Ohio, native, receives the Army Commendation Medal from Brig. Gen. William F.
