On this day in Ohio National Guard history, May 25, 1900, Company A, Special Troops Battalion, 37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, located in St. Marys, is organized at Spencerville as Company F, 2nd Infantry Regiment. Company A is unique in that, through consolidation, it is entitled to assault landing credit for three World War II campaigns: Northern Solomons, Luzon and Normandy. In this 1930 photo taken at Camp Perry, Soldiers of Company F, 148th Infantry pose for the annual unit photograph.
