On this day in Ohio National Guard history, May 25, 1900, Company A, Special Troops Battalion, 37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, located in St. Marys, is organized at Spencerville as Company F, 2nd Infantry Regiment. Company A is unique in that, through consolidation, it is entitled to assault landing credit for three World War II campaigns: Northern Solomons, Luzon and Normandy.
