112th coming home

Ohio Army National Guard Spc. Jason King, of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 112th Engineer Battalion, high-fives his daughter Bella July 8, 2011, at a welcome home ceremony in Lakewood, Ohio, after returning home from a yearlong deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. 178th Medical Group

Members of the 178th Medical Group, Springfield, Ohio, practice unloading a medical evacuation patient from a running UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter during the domestic operations portion of the 2011 Patriot Exercise July 13 at Volk Field Combat Readiness Training Center, Wis. During the exercise, the 178th MDG received training from Army personnel on the proper procedures for loading and unloading medical evacuation patients, including 'hot' loading/unloading, which occurs while the helicopters rotors are moving.

178th Medical Group

Members of the 178th Medical Group, Springfield, Ohio, participated in the domestic operations portion of the 2011 Patriot Exercise July 13-14 at Volk Field Combat Readiness Training Center, Wis. During the exercise, the 178th MDG provided support for an Expeditionary Medical Support Basic, which is designed to facilitate surgical and primary medical care in a deployed environment.

Ohio Army National Guard Staff Sgts. Paul Browder (from left), Michael Healey and Adrienne Corna graduated from the nine-week U.S. Army Drill Sergeant School earlier this year at Fort Jackson, S.C. The three Soldiers are members of the OHARNG Recruiting and Retention Battalion, and were sent to the school so that they may instruct new enlistees in Ohio's Recruit Sustainment Program (RSP) and increase their chances to succeed at Basic Combat Training (BCT).

Sapper Stakes Challenge

Units from throughout the Ohio National Guard's 216th Engineer Battalion competed in the Sapper Stakes Challenge during Annual Training 2011 at Camp Ravenna Joint Military Training Center, located in northeast Ohio.
