On this day in Ohio National Guard history, Dec. 7, 1920

On this day in Ohio National Guard history, Dec. 7, 1920, Company D, 1st Battalion, 145th Armored Regiment, currently stationed in Newton Falls, Ohio, was organized at Ravenna, Ohio as Troop L, Cavalry. In 1929 it was designated Headquarters Troop, 107th Cavalry. This photo of the troop was taken at Fort Knox, Ky., in 1938, just before the unit was redesignated as Troop F, 107th Cavalry, the name under which it fought during World War II.

Today in Ohio National Guard history: Dec. 10, 1874

Today in Ohio National Guard history: Dec. 10, 1874, Company E, 237th Support Battalion stationed in Lima, Ohio, was organized at Findlay, Ohio as the Findlay Guards. After the 37th Infantry Division cased its colors in 1968, the unit became a detachment of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 148th Infantry that was stationed in Lima. In this 2004 photo, members of the Scout Platoon, HHC, 1-148th Infantry provide security for a group of Ohio National Guard leaders visiting the deployed Soldiers of Task Force Falcon in Kosovo.
