The TACC, which will serve as a readiness center for multiple Ohio Army National Guard units, will be co-located with the existing Delaware Community Center YMCA. Clearing and removal of trees, shrubs and stumps from the site has begun, and construction of the 64,000-square-foot Delaware TACC is estimated to be completed in November 2014.

Earlier this year, the Air Force announced a mission change for the 179th to operate eight C-130Hs at the base, the first two of which arrived in May, with the final C-130H scheduled to arrive by June 2016.

The “F models” are an improved version of the previous CH-47Ds that the unit piloted while mobilized in 2012 to Afghanistan.

New Albany renamed the facility Veterans Field in honor of those who have served their country, offering free admission to veterans for all New Albany athletic events held there.

The community of New Albany, Ohio and New Albany High School hosted Ohio National Guard members and area veterans for the Eagles' season opener Aug. 30, 2013, at the school's newly renovated football stadium. Guard members and veterans participated in pregame ceremonies, during which New Albany renamed the facility Veterans Field in honor of those who have served their country, offering free admission to veterans for all New Albany athletic events held there.
