Airmen of the 180th Fighter Wing are officially welcomed home during a ceremony on Sept. 8, 2013, in Swanton, Ohio. Members of the 180th, who returned home in July from an Air Expeditionary Force deployment overseas to Djibouti and Jordan, conducted flying operations on the African continent in support of combat readiness and security of maritime vessels, aircraft, detachments and personnel.

Nearly 40 clergy members from throughout the state attended the Ohio National Guard's Clergy Familiarization Tour on Sept. 12, 2013, at Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base in Columbus, Ohio. About half of them expressed interest in participating in the ONG Clergy Working Group, after learning how best to support the spiritual and tangible needs of Ohio service members.

The 323rd Military Police Company, located in Toledo, Ohio, participated in a career exploring event on Sept. 20, 2013, for elementary school-aged students. Greenwood Elementary School hosts a yearly "Vehicle Day" to explore different careers through the different types of motor vehicles each job utilizes, and the 323rd Soldiers brought two Humvees to help the students learn more about serving in the Army National Guard.

The Ohio National Guard TRICARE Working Group and Health Net Federal Services recently announced that in-network TRICARE providers have increased 13.5 percent since August 2012 and non-network providers have increased 2.2 percent since January 2012.

The Ohio National Guard TRICARE Working Group and Health Net Federal Services recently announced that in-network TRICARE providers have increased 13.5 percent since August 2012 and non-network providers have increased 2.2 percent since January 2012. TRICARE is the civilian health care program serving military service members, retirees and their Families, including some members of the National Guard and Reserve, and increasing the number of providers who accept TRICARE allows more health care access for enrollees.

This Sunday, Sept. 29, the Army and the nation will turn their attention to mothers who have lost sons or daughters in America's wars on Gold Star Mothers Day. The day recognizes the sacrifice, resiliency and strength of Gold Star Mothers, as well as all Family members who bear the enormous burden of loss, and honors the legacy of our fallen Soldiers.
