Ohio Army National Guard conducts annual leaders conference
Nearly 200 Ohio Army National Guard officers and senior noncommissioned officers gather for the 2022 Army Leaders Conference at the Maj. Gen. Robert S. Beightler Armory in Columbus, Ohio, Dec. 9, 2022. The annual conference brings together command teams and other key leaders at the company, battalion, brigade and general staff echelons in order to provide senior leader guidance and updates to the force.

State command chief leads through strong support from family, fellow Airmen
Chief Master Sgt. Troy Taylor became the 12th state command chief master sergeant of the Ohio Air National Guard in September 2022. Taylor, who has served in the Ohio ANG for 26 years, attributes his success to the continued support he receives from his family, as well as his fellow Airmen and previous mentors who have helped mold him into the leader he is today.

Wreaths Across America ceremony at Ohio Statehouse honors veterans

Harris Jr., Ohio adjutant general, and Jan Rozanski, a Gold Star Father, honor the sacrifices of the nation’s veterans and their families during a Wreaths Across America ceremony Dec. 12, 2022, at the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus, Ohio. Wreaths Across America, a nonprofit organization, conducts events at more than 3,400 locations in all 50 states and throughout the world to raise awareness and appreciation for veterans and military families.

Chief Warrant Officer 3 Christopher Ravis, second from right, an Ohio National Guard systems administrator, along with other members of the National Guard team, display the SANS NetWars Department of Defense Services Cup they earned as champions of the annual competition. Hosted by the SysAdmin, Audit, Network and Security (SANS) Institute as part of its Cyber Defense Initiative event held in Washington, D.C., Dec. 15-16, 2022, the competition focused on testing skills in computer and systems administration, threat hunting, analysis, cryptography and other cyber-specific tasks. The competition, won by the National Guard for the third year in a row, consisted of 18, five-member teams from all military branches and several non-military government agencies.
