Ohio assistant adjutant general for Army promoted to brigadier general

Ceremony signifies transition of assistant adjutants general for Army
A January change of command ceremony signified the transition from the outgoing assistant adjutant general for Army, Brig. Gen. Thomas E. Moore II, to the incoming one, Brig. Gen. Matthew S. Woodruff. Moore, a Cumberland, Ohio native, retires after a 33-year military career that includes service both on active duty and in the Ohio Army National Guard.

Three former Guard members inducted into 2022 Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame class

Hickman, Carr and Hobson were among the 20 inductees into the most recent class of the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame, which honors veterans who have made a lasting impact on their communities, the state of Ohio and across the country, outside of and after their military careers.
Guard member’s instincts, vigilance helps rescue victim of child abuse
An Ohio Guard member serving on the COVID-19 hospital support mission in late 2021-early 2022 was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal by the Ohio adjutant general for their actions to help rescue a child from an abusive situation. The individual said they became suspicious when they observed an unpleasant interaction between a young patient and their guardians at the hospital. A subsequent law enforcement investigation determined that the young patient had been reported as a missing child and had been abused by their guardians.
Best of the Buckeye State: Outstanding Airmen of the Year
Five members of the Ohio Air National Guard took home honors in their respective rank categories during the 2023 Outstanding Airman of the Year Awards banquet at the Clark State College’s Hollenbeck Bayley Creative Arts and Conference Center in Springfield, Ohio. The annual awards recognize Airmen who go above and beyond, including demonstrating leadership, strong work ethic and commitment to giving back to their communities.
