OHNG Active Guard Reserve Soldiers
The objective of the Active Guard Reserve (AGR) program is to provide highly qualified Soldiers to meet the full-time support requirements for Ohio National Guard units, projects and programs. AGR Soldiers assist units in preparing training, managing supply and conducting administrative support to provide ready units to respond, when called to execute federal, state and community missions.
AGR assignments are career programs offering opportunities that encourage retention through promotion, pay and benefits, professional development and assignments to positions of increased responsibility. The Human Resources Office (HRO) is responsible for overseeing the selection of the best-qualified Soldiers to enter as participants in the AGR program.
The HRO oversees lateral entry into the program at all grade levels, without hindering the career development of current AGR Soldiers. HRO personnel management policies offer equality of treatment and opportunity, for all qualified program participants, without regard to race, religion, gender or national origin.
