Task Force Shiloh to help defend skies
over National Capital Region

About 210 Soldiers from the Ohio Army National Guard’s 1st Battalion, 174th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, Task Force Shiloh, located in Woodlawn, Ohio, are deploying in support of Operation Noble Eagle. Recognized during a call to duty ceremony Dec. 6, 2014, in Fairfield, Ohio, Task Force Shiloh’s mission will be to provide air defense support to homeland defense operations in the Washington, D.C. area, through the use of radar, ground-based air defense systems and communications equipment. The unit has previously deployed in support of the War on Terrorism to Germany, Texas, Kuwait and most recently in 2010, the 1-174th was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn.
