The Ohio State University honored members of the armed forces during the Buckeyes' Nov. 5 football game against Nebraska. Ohio National Guard Soldiers and Airmen presented the nation's colors during pregame ceremonies.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (11/05/16) — Leading up to Veterans Day, The Ohio State University honored service members and veterans during its Nov. 5 football game against Nebraska. Ohio National Guard Soldiers and Airmen supported a variety of pregame activities, including a large flag American flag display during the national anthem. Soldiers of the 37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, currently deployed overseas, were recognized on the jumbotron. Shortly into the game, during a break, several of the Ohio National Guard’s newest recruits were sworn in on the field Maj. Gen. Mark E. Bartman, Ohio adjutant general. Service members in attendance witnessed the Buckeyes defeat the Cornhuskers in the Big Ten Conference matchup, 62-3.
