Soldiers of 204th Engineer Detachment
honored during welcome home ceremony

REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio (01/28/17) — The Ohio National Guard welcomed home Soldiers from the 204th Engineer Detachment, headquartered in Columbus, during a public ceremony Jan. 28 at Reynoldsburg High School. The Soldiers were returning from a nearly yearlong deployment in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel, where they provided theater-level construction management as part of the Command Material Recovery Element. The 204th performed more than 50 deconstruction and demolition projects throughout Afghanistan and completed the engineer scope of work and design for 15 large-scale projects during the deployment.
