On Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, Family, friends and Soldiers of Detachment 2, Company B, 1st Battalion, 112th Aviation Regiment, gathered for their annual Christmas dinner at the 356th Fighter Group in North Canton, Ohio. The annual Christmas dinner provided a great opportunity for family and friends to reflect on what 2009 brought to the unit and also on what lies ahead in 2010. Santa brought joy, laughter and toys to all the good little girls and boys as he took time from his day to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. |

During 2009, the unit experienced changes in leadership, beginning with the retirement of Sgt. 1st Class David Pickens, the unit first sergeant, who was replaced by Sgt. 1st Class Dale Benedetti. The unit command also changed hands from Capt. Emily Grace Mate to 1st Lt. John Yahnert. Soldiers from the detachment departed for a yearlong deployment to Iraq in January 2009 and this holiday season we will all enjoy the welcoming home of our loved ones, as those Soldiers return home from their deployment. |
