The last couple of months have been very busy for Soldiers of E Company, 237th Support Battalion.

In July, E Company contributed a vehicle display for the Star Spangled Spectacular at Faurot Park in Lima and two Soldiers participated in the Star Spangled Spectacular’s annual 5K run through Faurot Park and downtown Lima.

In August, the unit conducted annual training in Grayling, Michigan. Most of the troops’ time was spent doing maintenance and support for the battalion. Also in August, several Soldiers assisted recruiters at the Allen County Fair to help promote public interest in the National Guard.

Ten E Company spent one weekend in August was being escorted by the Chained Eagles verterans motorcycle club to the 38 Special concert in downtown Lima at the Square Fair. E Company also supported the St. Mary’s Summer Fest in August with a color guard.

September was family fun time and Sept. 12 was set aside for Soldiers’ families to join the unit at Faurot Park for a dinner and some fun. The unit family readiness group coordinated the day. In September, E Company assisted the Boy Scouts of America with the Black Swamp Council and the St. Mary’s VFW took 16 Soldiers to a Cincinnati Reds game. All costs were on the VFW, who brought a charter bus to Lima and picked up the Soldiers and brought them back. Chicken dinners were also served. In September, a new member of E Company was welcomed into the world as Pfc. Megan Russell had a healthy baby girl.
