On Saturday, July 5, during the 2014 Mansfield Lahm Airport Day, the 179th Airlift Wing will dedicate one of its C-130H Hercules aircraft to the city of Mansfield. Soldiers and Airmen with the Ohio National Guard Homeland Response Force participated in the Vibrant Response exercise this July at Camp Atterbury Joint Maneuver Training Center, Ind. The disaster preparedness exercise brought together more than 5,500 military and civilian personnel from around the country to train for response to a terrorist attack, and gave participants the opportunity to practice inter-agency cooperation. The Ohio HRF is a joint service team of more than 500 Army and Air National Guard members who are trained to assist and support civil authorities in the event of a major catastrophic event.
