Flag Day is June 14th

In the United States, Flag Day is celebrated on June 14. It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States on that day in 1777 by resolution of the Second Continental Congress. The U.S. Army also celebrates its
birthday on June 14, turning 240 this year.

The Ohio National Guard, in partnership other local, state and federal agencies, is conducting Operation Guardian Shield '15, a joint, interagency full-scale training exercise, this week through Thursday, June 18, at multiple locations throughout Ohio. The exercise is being conducted to test the abilities of various first responders, including collaborative efforts among agencies during emergency events to be better prepared to safeguard Ohioans.
