About 15 Ohio National Guard Soldiers and Airmen were among the service members who had the opportunity to caddie for a tour player on a hole as part of the Birdies for the Brave military outreach initiative, which was conducted in conjunction with Military Appreciation Day at the Memorial Tournament.

Ohio National Guard recognizes D-Day

On this day in Ohio National Guard history: June 6, 1944 the 112th Engineer Battalion lands on the beaches of Normandy, France in support of the 1st and 29th Infantry Divisions. Warrant Officer Charles D. Moore and Master Sdt. Joseph P. Medved, Headquarters and Service Company, 112th Engineer Battalion, would be awarded the Silver Star Medal for their D-day heroism.
