The Ohio National Guard profiles Staff Sgt. Jamie Matheney, a boom operator with the 121st Air Refueling Wing at Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base, in this segment from the April Buckeye Guard video magazine on the Ohio Channel. Matheney is responsible for operating a specialized boom from the back of a KC-135 and pumping thousands of gallons of jet fuel into aircraft in flight.

Candidates from Ohio Army National Guard Officer Candidate School Class 64 with eight veterans on an Honor Flight.

Candidates from Ohio Army National Guard Officer Candidate School Class 64 accompanied eight veterans on an Honor Flight May 13 to war memorials throughout Washington D.C. In total, 56 veterans from around the state participated in the flight and were honored for their service in World War II, the Korean War or Vietnam War. Each year, OCS classes raise funds for, and participate in, a service project to help the community at large. From its fundraising efforts, OCS Class 64 donated more than $5,000 to the Columbus Honor Flight, in addition to the day spent honoring veterans.
