The Adjutant General’s Department is authorized 300 state employees that manage state funds and resources, and operate and maintain the agency’s facilities and programs.

STATE DEFENSE FORCE
The State Defense Force (SDF) comprises the Ohio Military Reserve, Ohio Naval Militia, and the Ohio Cyber Reserve. As integral parts of the Adjutant General’s Department, these organizations have specific roles that enhance the capabilities of the Ohio National Guard and provide additional civil-military expertise and functionality. The SDF has an exclusive focus on protecting the state. Elements of the SDF share similarities, with regard to rank and organization (Ohio Military Reserve and U.S. Army; Ohio Naval Militia and U.S. Navy), but are not part of the federally funded Reserve Components, like the Army and Air National Guard.
