Unit Public Affairs Representative, 1191st Engineer Company

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio—The 1191st Engineer Company recently welcomed a new Family Readiness Group leader and liaison to the team.

On Feb. 7, Mrs. Tammy and Pfc. Brandon Sigman were elected president and liaison of the 1191st Engineer Company during the 1191st family readiness group meeting.

The Sigmans currently reside in Jackson, Ohio. They have been married for 13 years and have three children.  They are both life members of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Unit in Jackson, Ohio, and are active members of their church in Stockdale, Ohio. In their spare time, Brandon and Tammy like to attend mystery events at the Ravenswood Castle in New Plymouth, Ohio.

The outgoing family readiness group team, Mrs. Lori and Sgt. Michael Crabtree served as the 1191st Engineer Company for two years. Their efforts during the last two years have greatly contributed to increased involvement from family members and outside organizations and have fostered a great working relationship from the unit and other government organizations in Scioto County. The family readiness group has created two annual events that have drawn the community to the Soldiers – the 1191st “Freedom Ride” and the 1191st “Cruise-in.”

Under the leadership of Capt. Dion Goins and 1st Sgt. Kenneth White, the 1191st Engineer Company plans, coordinates, and sustains operations of engineer units in mobility, counter mobility and survivability as well as general horizontal engineering missions. The 1191st family readiness group is a key component of mission readiness. It is a command-sponsored organization of family members, volunteers, organizations, and Soldiers that together support and assist the unit and its Soldiers. “Ready Families, anytime, anywhere!” is a key focus of the 1191st family readiness group.
