On this day in Ohio National Guard history, Nov. 1, 1920:

Company D, 128th Support Battalion in Hamilton is organized at Cincinnati as Troop H, 1st Cavalry Regiment. Since becoming a support company in 2007, Company D had served as a cavalry organization except for an 11-year period after World War II when it was field artillery. Family and friends welcomed home about 110 Airmen from the 123rd Air Control Squadron who returned from a six-month deployment overseas as part of the 727th Expeditionary Air Control Squadron, in the U.S. Air Forces Central Command area of responsibility. The Airmen were deployed in support of Operations Inherent Resolve, Freedom’s Sentinel and Resolute Support, as well as the Combined Air Defense of the Arabian Gulf. An official ceremony was held on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, at the Blue Ash Recreation Center, Blue Ash, Ohio.
