Ohio National Guard senior leaders meet to discuss, enact future organizational change
Senior leaders from across the Ohio National Guard convened at the Greater Columbus Convention Center this spring for the annual Joint Senior Leaders Conference, with an eye toward the future of the organization and their roles in facilitating the way ahead. The annual two-day event provided an opportunity to discuss successes of the past year, future training, the direction the Ohio National Guard is headed and issues relevant to the overall force.
OHARNG Best Warrior Competition crowns state’s top Soldier, NCO

Serbian Armed Forces chaplains visit Ohio

This State Partnership Program exchange was a continuation of the Ohio National Guard’s chaplain corps working closely with the Serbian Armed Forces since 2013 to reestablish a chaplaincy program that had not existed for more than seven decades in Serbia. Today, there are chaplains at Serbia’s military bases throughout the country, and the Ohio and Serbia chaplaincy relationship continues to grow.

179th AW holds tug-of-war event during Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month
The 179th Airlift Wing Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office conducts a tug-of-war competition to highlight Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month April 10, 2022, in Mansfield, Ohio. This year’s Department of Defense theme is “STEP FORWARD. Prevent. Report. Advocate.” It calls on all members of the DoD community to use their personal strength to advance positive change in preventing and reporting sexual violence.

ONG Biathlon Team members earn medals at 2022 CNGB Championships

Former Guard member among 2022 Ohio Military Hall of Fame inductees
Retired Command Sgt. Maj. Jeffrey N. Carter is posthumously inducted to the Ohio Military Hall of Fame, with his son Joe (inset) accepting on his behalf, during a ceremony April 22, 2022, at the Ohio Statehouse Atrium in Columbus, Ohio. Carter, who died last January, earned the Silver Star in Vietnam and later served with the Ohio Army National Guard’s 107th Armored Calvary and retired as the command sergeant major of the 37th Brigade, 38th Infantry Division. The Ohio Military Hall of Fame recognizes veterans who were awarded medals for valor during their military service.

OHMR member’s nursing skills, quick actions save life
